If one sincerely learns from the Buddha and cultivates well, then one's prayers will definitely be answered

Homage to H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III

On February 15, 2015, my daughter, Yong-Hong Huang and I attended the Maitreya Bodhisattva Dharma Assembly held at Hua Zang Si. During the intermission, we met with Master. At that time, Master gave me and my daughter each a black Ka Zuo An De pill. At home the following day after my morning dharma practice, I took out the Ka Zuo An De pill from my jacket preparing to take it. Much to my surprise, I found an additional orange Da Ba Bu Qiong pill which seemed slightly bigger than the Ka Zuo An De pill. Also, its taste was stronger. At that time I was amazed and happy about it. I immediately paid my respect to the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas for their empowerment.

After what had happened, I reported this to Master. Master said, "This is your good fortune." However, I wondered why I would have such great fortune. I have never made any significant contribution. The most I have done is to truly and sincerely cultivate myself every day. No matter how busy I am every day, I will persist on practicing my dharma which was transmitted to me by my master, particularly the mantras transmitted by H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III. Sometimes if I cannot do it during the day, I will definitely make for it at night.  I have never forgotten to do my dharma practice.  All I have kept in mind is that this is something I must do in order to truly learn from the Buddha and cultivate.

A few years ago, before I started my Dharma-listening center, every week I would persist on going to Hua Zang Si to respectfully listen to the dharma expounded by H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III. My house was kind of far from the temple. Every time I would have to take the bus first, then transfer to BART to get to Hua Zang Si. The BART has more rides but the bus only comes once an hour. One time, after a dharma-listening session, I was a little late for the BART, and I noticed that it was about time for my transfer bus to take off. I was very anxious. I immediately sincerely recited the holy name of Amitabha Buddha, praying that Amitabha Buddha would bless me to be able to catch this bus. Because I am a senior, if I do not make it to that bus in time, a long wait at the bus stop will take a toll on me. While I recited the Buddha's name, I hurried and got off the BART and rushed to the bus stop. When I arrived at the bus stop,  the bus was still parked there. There might be many people on the bus, but it had not moved yet. It seemed as if it was waiting for me. As soon as I got on the bus, it took off. I was so happy. That was truly an expression of the compassion and care that the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas gave to me. I truly appreciate the empowerment from the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas.

This summer, my daughter's family of four went to Chicago for a graduation ceremony of a friend's daughter who was a foreign student. While they were there, they toured around. When their trip was over and they were about to return home, they found that tickets were all sold out because it was a busy season. They were told that they could only try to come back the next day to check if there was anything available. There was no guarantee. They got very anxious because the grown-ups needed to work and the kids needed to go back to school. After I learned about that, I immediately went to bow to the big Buddha statue of Guan Yin Bodhisattva and sincerely prayed. I hoped that with the Bodhisattva's awesome, magnificent power, She would bless my daughter’s family of four, so they could book an airline and have a smooth flight back to San Francisco. The next morning, a miracle really happened. A flight had exactly four seats available, which seemed to be reserved especially for them. After I learned that, I was very happy for them. I immediately went to the big Buddha statue of Guan Yin Bodhisattva and paid my homage. I expressed my heartfelt gratitude to Guan Yin Bodhisattva for Her compassion and empowerment.

From all these events, I deeply feel that as long as we wholeheartedly rely on the Buddhas, sincerely recite the Buddha's name and cultivate ourselves, then when we genuinely request help from the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, we definitely will invoke the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, and our prayers will be answered.

In this life, I am fortunate to come to America and encounter the correct dharma of the Tathagata personally transmitted by H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III. It is truly the good fortune I have accumulated from many life times and eons. Before I came to America, I might have believed in the Buddhas and been learning Buddhism, but it was difficult to find Buddha Dharma in China that contained correct understanding and views. Some individuals claimed to be able to transmit you dharma which turned out not to be the correct dharma of Buddhism. They did it for fame and profit, and deceived many disciples for monetary gains. I remembered one time when I had encountered a "Master of Dharma Transmission." He claimed to be a graduate from Zhe Jiang Medical School. At his place, he set up a so-called multi-leveled "Mandala for homage to the Buddhas." The more money you turned in, the higher level your name would be placed. In other words, the more monetary offerings you gave, the higher your title would be and the more empowerment you would receive. At that time I doubted how things could work that way. Also, since he was a medical school graduate and he is not a monastic, why didn’t he become a doctor instead of a so called "Master of Dharma Transmission?" He also pressured Buddhists who wanted to learn Buddhism to buy his jade at high prices. How could this be a Master of correct dharma?  He is completely different from H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III who is noble and only engages in affairs which will benefit living beings and yet never accepts any offerings. In addition, the Buddha transmits the supreme, rare, and auspicious dharma of the Tathagata to those Buddhists who genuinely want to learn from the Buddha. Luckily, I left the false master and have not fallen for his fraud.

Now, I feel like I have great fortune and lead a very enriched life. Every day my heart is full of dharma joy. I continue to devote my time on learning from the Buddha and continue my cultivation.  Other than making sure that I finish my daily dharma homework, I also will find time to study the dharma book, Expounding the Absolute Truth through the Heart Sutra by H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III. May I work even more continuously increasing my correct understanding and views. I am adamant to follow and learn from H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III and cultivate myself. May I realize the ultimate Bodhi, attain accomplishment, and reach liberation in this life time. Amitabha!

The Dharma Water Manifests Buddha Power The Sincere Prayers to Buddhas Clear Unknown Illness

The Dharma Water Manifests Buddha Power

The Sincere Prayers to Buddhas Clear Unknown Illness

In Mid-October 2011, when layperson Ling-Xian Chen from New York came to San Francisco to visit Hua Zang Si (a temple in United States that propagates the dharma of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III), she came to my place to listen to the Dharma. When I saw her, she seemed very gloomy. After a few words with her, I learned that her daughter-in-law, Su-Qing Chen in Taiwan was suffering from an unknown illness. She had  gone through several examinations at various hospitals and still could not find the cause of it. She was in agonizing pain and her body was so weak that her weight had gone down to 39 kilos. Layperson Ling-Xian Chen was very worried about this and was about to rush back to pay her a visit in Taiwan. At that time, I recalled that I had the Dharma water empowered by the Buddha. I made a small bottle for her and asked her to bring it to her daughter-in-law. I also asked her to tell her daughter-in-law to have faith in Buddha Dharma, truly repent her beginning-less karmic hindrances and sincerely beseech empowerment from the Buddhas.

After layperson Ling-Xian Chen arrived in Taiwan, she then learned that her daughter-in-law had suffered from the illness since the beginning of the year. Her symptoms started with skin rashes and itchiness. She had sought cures from everywhere to no avail. Then in October her illness got worse. She was not able to swallow. If she drank, the water would flow out of her nostrils; if she ate, the food would get stuck in her throat. The last resort was nasogastric intubation for feeding. On October 18, they found the name of the illness – dermatomyositis, but there was no cure for it. They could only treat her with corticosteroids or antibiotics. Afterwards, she experienced chest pain as a result of liquid retention in the lungs. They took out the liquid, yet the chest pain did not go away. After another check-up, they found a tear in the esophagus. Feeding through a tube was then stopped.

November 5 was the first time when layperson Ling-Xian Chen fed her daughter-in-law the Dharma water. She poured the pure Dharma water in the tube and asked her daughter-in-law how she felt about it. She said that it felt good and tasted fragrant. Afterwards, layperson Ling-Xian Chen poured the rest of the Dharma water evenly in several mineral water bottles. Every day she gave some of it to her daughter-in-law and comforted her daughter-in-law saying that with the Dharma water, she will receive the empowerment from the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. As long as she has faith, she will have hope.

The prolong use of antibiotics and corticosteroids lead to anemia and malnutrition. At one point her limbs almost fell paralyzed and she could not even take care of her biological needs. To restore the tube feeding, the tube was inserted all the way to the small intestine which was a very painful process. After the evaluations were done by several departments, they decided on a surgery to suture the tear on the esophagus. On December 16, while in the surgery, the surgeons found that the tear of the esophagus had gotten too big, like the shape of a trumpet, to suture. They also found two additional small holes next to the heart. At the end, they redirected the tube from the top to a lower position and decided on a gastrostomy tube placement surgery which was then scheduled on January 4. After the surgery, her daughter-in-law was placed in ICU.

During this period of time, layperson Ling-Xian Chen insisted on feeding her daughter-in-law the mineral water mixed with the Dharma water. She had drunken seven or eight bottles all together. Gadu Rinpoche had chanted a sutra and beseeched blessings for her. The monastics of Hua Zang Si also have dedicated their merits to her. While she was waiting for the g-tube placement surgery, a miracle happened. On January 3, before the surgery, in an endoscope exam, they found that tissues around the tear had grown and as a result closed the opening. The doctors were stunned by this and said that a surgery was not necessary any more. After two weeks of observation, the feeding tube was then taken out. After taking another X-ray of the esophagus to ensure of no opening, she was then released. One month after, she gradually recovered. She was then able to swallow without problems. Now, she is strong enough to talk and move freely.

The entire family of layperson Ling-Xian Chen was very moved. Her daughter-in-law also truly thanked the empowerment from the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. She took refuge in Buddhism and sincerely took on the Bodhi path of Buddhist practice and cultivation. This true story again proves that Buddha Dharma is magnificent and the highest. It manifests immeasurable power that is true and not false. As long as one is sincere to the Buddhas, truly repents the beginning-less negative karma as a result of ignorance, becomes determined to learn from the Buddha and do only good, and cultivate in accordance with the Dharma, one will definitely receive empowerment from the Buddhas, eradicate all afflictions and sufferings caused by karmic hindrances, and obtain peace and happiness. Amitabha!

Experience from Respectfully Listening to the Recorded Dharma Discourses Expounded by H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III

http://

I feel very fortunate and lucky to have the opportunity to respectfully listen to the recorded Dharma discourses expounded by H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III, revered as the Pope of Buddhism.

The recorded dharma discourses expounded by H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III that I listened to include What is Cultivation?Impermanence, and others. Every time after respectfully listening to a recorded dharma discourse, I felt like being a fully charged computer. The dharma discourse alerted me to wake up from complex and chaotic worldly matters, reminding me that I must cultivate to become liberated from samsara and benefit others using the benefits I received.

In particular, the dharma discourse expounded by H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III entitled A Deviated Mind Attached to Phenomena is Mara; Differentiation under Any Circumstances Diverges from the State of Meditation benefited me especially very much. After respectfully listening to this dharma discourse, I began to learn how to put down attachment to self and how to prevent myself from being pulled by external states. However, in this process of learning, I am still often attached to various matters due to my habitual nature of an ordinary being. Only until after the incident, was I able to introspect to realize that I should hold up the correct thought, cultivate myself well, and put down attachment to self. Then I again began to make the effort to act according to the teaching.

I have been back and forth in this process. I make mistakes often, but I also repeatedly remind myself after the incident.

Under a karmic condition, misunderstanding was produced between me and several friends of mine due to our different opinions in the process of working together. One of them attacked and criticized me in many ways. Had the situation occurred before I started to learn Buddhism and cultivate myself, I would have rebutted and scolded loudly in return long ago. Then the result would definitely be like a struggle of life and death. However, I was very calm at that time. I knew that if I was attached to it, afflictions would arise in me. I thought, “I should put it down. There is no need to explain. After a while, this misunderstanding will be untied and solved.” In the end, the misunderstanding did become resolved due to the rising of another karmic condition. As an after-thought, I feel this really is a beneficial effect from listening to the dharma, so that I was able to hold up my correct thinking in this unfavorable situation and continue to learn and act according to the teaching!

Therefore, I am very grateful to the opportunity of encountering the true dharma of the Tathagata from H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III!

I am grateful to all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas in the ten directions!

“Does a Kind Person Tend to Be Bullied by Others?”

“Does a Kind Person Tend to Be Bullied by Others?”

Often I hear people say to me, “You really should not be so naive and kind. No wonder you are bullied and taken advantage of by others all the time!”

This became my thinking too in the past. That was why I had distorted understanding on many things. I always thought, “He bullied me so much. This is definitely because I am too honest and too kind in behaving as a person…” Thus, I tried to force myself to become strong and intrepid. Eventually I even became vexatious! However, is this really what I should do?

Under a certain karmic opportunity, I met a person who became a fine friend of mine. He often spoke to me some principles and reasoning of Buddhism. Later he led me to the Buddha hall he goes to. There, I had the opportunity to listen to the recorded dharma discourses expounded by H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III. Through listening to the recorded dharma discourses, I became much happier, more open- and broad-minded, and mentally freer and at ease! I also learned that learning Buddhism is not limited to occasionally practicing the dharma, burning incense to respect the Buddha, or attending dharma assemblies to be a part of the ceremony. We also need to cultivate ourselves. Cultivation can enable us to transform causality!

I mentioned earlier my idea of forcing myself to appear strong and intrepid to avoid being harmed by others. However, is it necessary to do so? Is the harm from others really due to our being kind? After listening to the recorded dharma discourses expounded by H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III, I learned that everything and all phenomena arise from causality, including of course the good and adversary karmic conditions between people. If we generate resentment and hatred or even take harmful actions against the other side when subjected to bullying or unfair treatment, wouldn’t another evil cause be seeded, which we have to pay for through suffering the malicious consequence?! Then, wouldn’t the vicious process continue forever without an end?! Also, since the situation could be due to the harm I did to the others in a past life time or at a certain time in the past, can forcing myself to be unkind make the evil causes I planted in the past disappear?! The answer is definitely no because the law of causality never errs.

With the above learning and understanding, when subjected to insult, bullying, or unfair treatment, I now know to beseech Buddhas and Bodhisattvas to bless this person with happiness, joy, and absence of afflictions! I can act even better toward this person and avoid hostile confrontations. Gradually, doing so has become my habit. I no longer need to pretend to be strong. I feel freer and more at ease in life and, of course, I am happier than before.

I am grateful to H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III!

What Should We Do about the Matter of Death?

What Should We Do about the Matter of Death?

I most sincerely prostrate to H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III!
I most sincerely prostrate to H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III!
I most sincerely prostrate to H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III!

Layperson Hou Yushan, a university professor in physics, ascended to the World of Ultimate Bliss (Webpage in Chinese)

Layperson Lin Liu Huixiu in Seattle ascended to the World of Ultimate Bliss in a sitting pose (Webpage in Chinese)

While they were alive, the dharma brother and dharma sister worked diligently on their own duties to take care of their family and do volunteer work. Later, they became seriously ill. At such critical moment, they encountered extremely magnificent affinities with the dharma. They respectfully and faithfully listened to the recorded dharma discourses expounded by H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III and had the opportunity to pay respect to H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III in person. With boundless compassion, H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III transmitted the dharma to them. Through diligently practicing the dharma, they ascended to the World of Ultimate Bliss. Living beings should all think and seriously ask themselves a question. Who can be guaranteed to ascend to the World of Ultimate Bliss??

After attending the funeral/farewell ceremony for Layperson Hou Yushan, I recalled the time I was having dinner with Layperson Lin Liu Huixiu while she was already terminally ill. The memory of her reminding me to start eating was as fresh and vivid as yesterday. The karmic condition that caused me to learn the Buddha-dharma of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III also resurfaced in my mind…

At the age of over 80, my grandpa was stricken in bed with pneumonia. In the early morning on that day, he was unable to breath on his own and a tube had to be inserted to feed oxygen in. The suffering caused him to be tied up on the bed yowling for several hours. Eventually, the misery ended at four o’clock in the afternoon. Despite having a strong will to live, he was nevertheless overpowered by the devil of illness and left the world unwillingly. The tragic scene before his death still appears before my eyes…In the morning of that day, grandpa could still talk and move normally. Using hand gestures to help explain, he repeatedly mentioned the time of 4 o’clock in the afternoon to me and my mother. Perhaps he already knew that the Yama King would soon come to take him…
Grandpa’s passing away greatly affected my view toward life. He was at the hospital at the time. I watched with my own eyes him stepping into the impermanence of death. I was unable to help him in any way. His death was like a horrible dream to me. I suddenly woke up to the fact that a person will die… Even the doctor can’t do anything. Where does one go after death? What can we do about that? What can we do about that?

I had never heard about H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III before then. My karmic forces were very heavy. I would doze off when listening to chanting sutras. I was only fond of pursuing worldly good fortune. To quest for the answer of what to do about death, I began to listen to the dharma expounded by H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III. At the very beginning of listening to the recorded dharma discourses, to tell the truth, I could not get most of what I heard due to my inability to understand the accent. However, any small paragraph that I could understand made me feel like getting precious treasures, even though I did not have any background in Buddhism. Through this process of entering deeply to achieve a simple and explicit understanding, I heard the truth about the universe and human life. The words of “formation, abiding, decaying, and vanishing” sounded extremely precise and accurate. What is impermanence? Why do we have to end birth and death! The dharma expounded by H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III is so great and magnificent!

After respectfully listening to the recorded dharma discourses expounded by H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III, I have understood what impermanence is about. I am no longer worried or in fear. I also have adjusted the emphasis of my life and do not solely go after worldly enjoyment.
A person will die… Even the doctor can’t do anything. Where does one go after death? What can we do about that? What can we do about that? Actually these questions have been explained very clearly in the recorded dharma discourses expounded by H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III and are very minor problems……

Do you have questions about ascending to the World of Ultimate Bliss?
Do you have questions about Arhat, Bodhisattva, and Buddha?
If you can respectfully and seriously listen to the recorded dharma discourses expounded by H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III, you will have all the answers.
The accomplishment one attains depends on one’s own cultivation, conduct, and level of practice.
I am boundlessly grateful to H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III!
I beseech and wish living beings have the opportunity to hear the dharma expounded by H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III and all attain perfect good fortune and wisdom, great accomplishment, and great liberation!

I most sincerely prostrate to H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III!
I most sincerely prostrate to H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III!
I most sincerely prostrate to H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III!
